Entering a 10 mile Safety Corridor

Accidents are strongly discouraged here, apparently are acceptable elsewhere in New Mexico.

"I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!"

Actually, there is not a damn thing I can do about this: ten medical aide workers were murdered yesterday, and I knew the wife of one of them. Libby and Tom Little have been medical missionaries in Afghanistan for about 40 years. In 1992, I met Libby at the boarding school in India that one of her daughters, and my son, attended. Libby was the essence of a selfless, caring, but not Pollyanna human being. The organization with which she was affiliated provided eyecare, including cataract removal - SO PEOPLE COULD SEE - in all of Afghanistan; many of their patients had never seen a doctor. None could afford one. All three of Libby and Tom's daughters had grown up in Afghanistan - it was their home since the 1970's. Tom regularly went into the provinces to help people. That is what he was doing when he was pointlessly, grotesquely murdered, after climbing mountains and helping people on a two-week trek - murdered because he was not Muslim by people who don't care that they have eviscerated the eyecare for their people, not to mention stolen the lives of good and giving people.
